About Robin Zachary
"In my early days in business, I wish I had a mentor to help me explore who
I wanted to be as a stylist. That's why I created The Prop Styling Experience.
My styling workshops are unique laboratories for experimentation and self-discovery, perfect for anyone who needs guidance through the many creative possibilities that
await them." – Robin Zachary
A self-proclaimed smart shopper and vintage junkie with a passion for ephemera and handmade objects, Robin is always on the hunt for her next great prop score, scouring thrift shops, boutiques, and tag sales both at home and on her travels. She loves devising a narrative and selecting just the right objects to create photographs that tell that story. Robin believes in the emotional connection between a photograph and its viewer, and strives to unlock the components of that connection. Her hope is that The Prop Styling Experience will awaken in her students that same hunger for original storytelling and the perfectly composed image.
Robin is an NYC-based tabletop and craft stylist, art director, and a faculty member of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. She is also Contributing Home Editor of Bridal Guide Magazine, where she was formerly the Creative Director – a job that provided her the opportunity to style and direct hundreds of shoots. She's a regular attendee of Bridal Fashion Week and the New York Tabletop Market and her clients span famous home product brands, national magazines, e-commerce, and social media outlets.
"When I first enquired about The Prop Styling Experience, Robin asked me the most insightful questions about me and my business. She really wanted to learn my story and the result was a very personal session tailored specifically for my needs. But it was so much more than I imagined. Based on the goals we set, the day was productive and creative and I walked away with not only a much greater awareness about prop styling but I had a session with a mentor that I greatly respect. What I learned from Robin is now a part of how I prepare for clients and for my photo shoots. Each area has improved greatly as a result of The Prop Styling Experience. The day was extremely helpful and worth the trip to New York City!"—Jamie Jamison, Youngstown, Ohio

Robin is an engaging mentor who uses her intense passion for styling to encourage her students and fuel their fires. Having been in the industry a few years Robin gave me the tools and confidence I needed to transition from styling weddings into freelancing as a commercial stylist. It was an invaluable experience to spend some time with her in an open, collaborative environment and to get a glimpse into her process, techniques and work habits. Never have I felt as supported and encouraged as I was during this workshop. I came away feeling validated, revitalized and purposeful with a list of action steps to put me on a path towards working commercially."—Janelle, re:find Joy, Chicago
